Systems, Inc. Acquisition provides MAS with the
ability to offer customized Charlottesville, VA - Medical Automation Systems, Inc. (MAS) is pleased to announce the acquisition of the assets of the business formerly known as The Epsilon Group, LLC by MAS’ wholly-owned subsidiary, TEG Virginia, LLC. The new company, which will do business under the Epsilon name, is headed up by Timothy Meakem, MD, formerly the President of The Epsilon Group. According to Meakem, “This reorganization of the core Epsilon team inside of MAS provides us with access to additional resources focused on continuing to provide cutting-edge scientific research and consulting services to our clients. It will also allow both organizations to benefit from the numerous synergies that are present.” The fit with MAS is a natural one, as the companies have many things in common—ranging from philosophy of business to geographic location. “MAS was literally right down the street,” Meakem explains, “and both companies share the same passion for excellence and integrity in our business dealings, and the same goal of developing enduring relationships with customers by providing an outstanding value to them each and every day.” For MAS, this acquisition accomplishes a long-standing desire to expand their offerings to include an even larger clinical capability, according to Greg Menke, CEO of MAS. “We have thought for quite some time that this was a direction we wanted to go because it made sense for MAS and for our clients. We are convinced that this is just the right fit at the precisely the right time.” The Epsilon Group will offer a unique blend of MAS’s information management for point-of-care testing through their RALSĀ® system as well as the expertise inherent in the Epsilon team to provide customized post-marketing studies as well as enhanced, comprehensive services to clients currently shared by both in the diagnostic and pharmaceutical industries. As Greg Menke states, “We are extremely excited about having the ability to provide studies on Point-of-Care testing and other areas of diagnostic research, to better unleash the significant value these tools bring to patient care”. ### About Medical Automation Systems Medical Automation Systems (www.medicalautomation.com/) is the leading supplier of information management systems for point-of-care testing with over 600 installations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
