MAS-EPSILON Announces Licensing of

SAAM II - Simulation Analysis and Modeling Software

Licensed from the University of Washington Center for Commercialization, MAS-EPSILON

plans to support current +5000 user group with ongoing educational webinars, NIH courses and upgrade software to using current robust statistical analysis and graphics tools

June 17, 2011 - Charlottesville, VA - MAS-Epsilon announces the licensing of Simulation Analysis and Modeling Software (SAAM II), version 2.0, from the University of Washington Center for Commercialization, Seattle, Washington. This license enables MAS-EPSILON to perform and support compartmental modeling of physiologic and chemical systems. Computer simulation has increasingly become a useful means to test clinical hypotheses regarding human disease processes and response to intervention, providing valuable information about the safety and limitations of various treatments before in vivo testing.

SAAM II is absolutely essential for my modeling activities. Its flexibility and ability to analyze data sets from multiple experiments with multiple input-output designs makes it a integral component of my modeling toolbox.

The SAAM II (Simulation, Analysis and Modeling) software was designed to support the development and statistical calibration of compartmental models in biological and pharmaceutical research and instruction. Since its release in the early 1990’s and more recently in 2003, SAAM II has been used worldwide, and is a popular and effective research tool in kinetic modeling. The Epsilon Group proposes to further develop the SAAM II software tool to provide up-to-date numerical, statistical and computing capabilities to meet the ever advancing and evolving needs of the individual users and industry.

"Our goal is to further develop SAAM II with improved modeling, analyses and reporting functionality in order to provide access, instructional support, and services for clinical and pharma scientists and investigators," states Kurt Wassenaar, MAS/Epsilon CEO. "SAAM II allows us to offer expanded modeling capabilities to these groups for other purposes and disease processes."

In addition, MAS/Epsilon plans to support SAAM II’s +5000 user group with ongoing educational webinars, NIH courses and upgrade the software with current robust statistical analysis and graphics tools for expansion into disciplines where computer modeling is an important step in research and development of new technologies and pharmaceuticals.
